Clearview Traffic gains elite Sector 7 Accreditation

Clearview Traffic Group is delighted to announce they are now fully accredited to the National Highways Sector Scheme 7 for installation of the innovative Astucia SolarLite LED road studs. Clearview Traffic is now one of only 5 companies in the UK to hold such a high level of accreditation.

In order to secure recognition of their high standards of workmanship, Clearview Traffic Contracting, the Traffic Civils and Installation Division of the Group, has been put through a rigorous 10 month certification process which included third party examination of on-road processes, auditing of internal procedures to ISO9001;2008 and registration of documentation with LANTRA, the sector skills council. All Clearview Traffic Group’s ISO procedures are independently assessed by BSI (British Standards Institute).

The National Highways Sector Schemes have been developed to ensure a benchmark of quality within the industry, working within the ISO 9001:2000 framework. For customers of Clearview Traffic Contracting, full Sector 7 accreditation including registration with LANTRA is key to ensuring the highest standards are met when installing road studs and provides confidence in the quality management systems of the organization.

This Sector 7 accreditation strengthens the end-to-end service offered by the Clearview Traffic Contracting who also hold Sector 8 accreditation for the Installation and Maintenance of Highway Electrical equipment and / or Associated Highway works. The company is also certified for Sector 12 relating to Traffic Management, allowing the organization to deliver a wide range of services to Local Authorities, Consultants and Contractors within the Traffic Industry.

Approval of the on-road installation processes were carried out by the RSMA (Road Safety Markings Association) who were delighted with the evolution of processes within the Group and the development of specialized equipment, particularly the new Astucia SolarLite road stud installation rig. The internal procedures were then audited by BSI to ensure they complied fully with ISO standards. Once this had been completed the full process has been incorporated into the Group scope for ISO9001; 2008 and finally were registered with LANTRA, resulting in full Sector 7 certification.

On being awarded the accreditation, the team at Clearview Traffic were surprised to discover that many companies have only gained RSMA approval of their processes which is the first stage of certification. Fewer organisations have had a third party review of their systems and, unexpectedly, only 4 other companies in the UK hold the full registered Sector 7 certification which is the standard required by many organisations and prime contractors for companies undertaking works to UK highways.

The installation of Astucia SolarLite road studs is key in the battle to reduce night time KSIs in the UK, as the innovative studs offer a 70% reduction in fatal accidents by providing a ten fold increase on visibility compared to the traditional Halifax road stud.

Nick Lanigan, Group Supply Chain Director commented: "We are delighted with the Sector 7 award, as recognition of the high level of ongoing processes and practices within our Contracting Division. This demonstrates our commitment to quality and the services we offer to our customers."
