Queue Detection

Accidents on usually fast moving roads often occur where stationary traffic is encountered without warning. There are a number of locations on the highway network where queuing or slow moving traffic is regularly encountered and these locations can benefit from a standalone queue detection and warning system.

Slow or stationary traffic is detected by the Golden River vehicle technology indicating a traffic management problem on the network, will trigger Astucia Intelligent Road Studs fitted with ultra-bright LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) to flash their warning to oncoming traffic. As the length of the queue or instance of slow moving traffic increases, the next section of Astucia studs will flash to ensure adequate warning beyond the end of the queuing traffic is maintained.
