Sirhowy Enterprise Way - DBFO

Testimonial

Sirhowy Enterprise Way have just completed a six year Contract with Golden River Traffic Ltd to provide and maintain seven Traffic Measuring Equipment sites on the Project Road, during which time there have only been two instances where the equipment has become unavailable.  GRT have always been most proactive in identifying any equipment malfunctions and implementing measures to rectify the problems, which has resulted in data loss being kept to a minimum. In addition GRT have closely adhered to monthly reporting requirements and verification dates, with good working procedures demonstrated that have enabled SEW Ltd and our client Caerphilly County Borough Council to establish a positive and trusting working relationship.
Based upon the established rapport with GRT and their proven track record over the last six years, SEW have recently negotiated a further Agreement to reappoint GRT as Traffic Measuring Equipment Contractor for the remainder of this DBFO Contract, which expires in January 2034.
In addition to the SEW Contract, GRT also provide services to other projects in the John Laing portfolio, two of which have also negotiated Agreements for the remainder of their respective concession periods, providing both parties with financial certainty and assurance of sustained  work.
The GRT team led by James Turner as Contracts Manager and supported by Tessa Mills as Field Service Co-Ordinator, have demonstrated a high level of service which we expect to see continue during the new Contract.

Neal Devoil, General Manager John Laing Investments Ltd.

In today’s environment, it is often difficult for many organisations to justify the resources needed to assure the smooth continuous operation of services, yet the timely delivery of up-to-the-minute traffic data is the lifeblood in many local authority highways departments and related organisations and is critical in helping to both maintain the smooth flow of traffic on the network thus minimising disruption to businesses and road users and to assure the continued funding of road improvements and maintenance.

For example, in the 15 UK DBFO (Design, Build Finance, Operate) contracts, the accuracy and completeness of this data is the core information used to determine the level of funding they receive with which to maintain the road network. We currently provide this facility as a wholly managed service to 13 of these DBFO contracts, with a number of this consistently renewing owing to the level of service and care they receive.

Working in partnership with you and acting as an extension to your own in-house team, these services can be comprised of many different components in much the same way as our maintenance packages, though generally they will also include an agreed level of periodic (usually monthly) reporting of performance against a specific service level agreement and some custom reporting to highlight key performance indicators as required by the customer.

Here’s what some of our existing customers have to say about our managed service offering:

Nick Humby, General Manager at Sheppey Route Ltd. states:
Since 2006 when the PFI Contract went ‘Operational’, Golden River Traffic have provided, on the whole, an excellent service both from the Head Office and locally with Engineering Staff responding to issues on site. They have worked hard to address problems and come up with proposals to address issues that we encountered in the first few years. The GRT team has always reacted quickly to requests for information and provided excellent support when the equipment or processes have failed to operate in their designed manner. GRT have developed a successful relationship with the DBFO Team from SRL Ltd and the O&M Contractor, Carillion Highway Maintenance.
