The Astucia products comprise a range of LED (Light Emitting Diode) based road studs that provide unparalleled visibility, especially compared to the retro reflective road studs that depend on headlight reflection to illuminate. Our SolarLite™ Road Studs offer a smart, safe and sustainable solution that has been hailed a major breakthrough in road safety, with installations seen across the globe, from the UK to Oman. Not only do they give a crystal clear view of the road ahead, they are also proven to reduce collisions by up to 70%.
Powered entirely by natural sunlight and using ultra bright LEDs the projected light from each stud is ten times greater than the visibility given by traditional retro-reflective studs and do not rely on headlight efficiency to perform effectively. At a speed of 100km/h (62mph) this can increase driver reaction times from 3.25 seconds to over 30 seconds.
